Justin MacLean, 27, and Jason Nolan, 32, have been charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine. Both men were arrested Monday and taken to the York County Jail in Alfred, where they remained Wednesday evening.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) and the Sanford Police Department worked together on the case, according to Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the state's public safety department.

MDEA Supervisor Stephen Borst said undercover agents reportedly had purchased cocaine from Nolan in recent days at his house on Brook Street in Sanford, McCausland said in a prepared statement.

On Monday, agents and local police officers stopped a vehicle operated by MacLean as it left Nolan's residence and allegedly found nearly five ounces of cocaine and crack in the vehicle. Agents then took Nolan into custody at his home.

McCausland said the agents and officers seized a small amount of cocaine, a scale and some packing materials.

MacLean lives in Haverhill, Mass., and is believed to be transporting the drug to Sanford, McCausland added.

Both men are likely to appear in York County Superior Court on Dec. 14.

Borst said Nolan is suspected of selling cocaine in Sanford over the past year.

Both men are being held on $50,000 cash bail.

Nicholas House, 27, was arrested by police acting on a tip that he was delivering a large load of drugs from Chicago.

Chicago man with ties to La Crosse was charged Tuesday with intent to deliver nearly 50 grams of cocaine.

The charge filed in La Crosse County Circuit Court stems from a bust early Thursday at an Onalaska motel where Nicholas House, 27, was arrested by police acting on a tip that he was delivering a large load of drugs from Chicago.

According to the criminal complaint, officers found 109 individually wrapped bags of cocaine wedged in a secret compartment behind the dashboard of the van in which House was riding. House said the drugs were his and that he’d been arrested before for drug dealing.

House is in the La Crosse County jail with a $50,000 cash bond.

Roderick Ray, 27, 801 S. Summer St., Selmer, N.C., is charged with possession of Schedule II substance (cocaine), evading arrest and tampering with evidence.

The two men were stopped by West Tennessee Drug Task Force Special Agent Russell Burrow on Thursday, March 17, when he initiated a traffic stop on a 2010 Nissan Sentra with out-of-state tags near the junction of Interstate I-155 and Highway 412 in Dyer County.

As the vehicle stopped, Ray, who was the passenger in the vehicle, allegedly fled on foot toward the former Quebecor plant holding a plastic bag.

The driver, Walker, was held and a description of Ray was immediately given out to all law enforcement officers. The Dyersburg Police Depart-ment, Dyer County Sheriff's Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol conducted a search of the area. Officers found Ray hiding beside several large tanks at the plant.

Both Burrow and West Tennessee Drug Task Force Special Agents Shawn Crouch along with Dyersburg Police Department K-9 Officer Brent Hill utilized their narcotics K-9s to assist in locating the plastic bag Ray was seen carrying as he fled the vehicle. The bag was found on the roof of a building close to where Ray was seen.

According to the arrest warrants for Ray and Walker, the bag contained 2 pounds of cocaine.

Both subjects where transported to the Dyer County Jail and were charged in Dyer County General Sessions Court.

Police arrested the adult occupants, Ronald Bergamino, 28, of Mount Pocono, Lauren Riches, 25, of Stroudsburg, Edward Matthews, 28, and Casey Matthews

one-year-old child was placed in county custody, and four adults are under arrest, following a traffic stop in Pocono Summit.

Police stopped the car for a suspended license. A female passenger was recognized by police and that triggered a search, with a K-9, who detected heroin. More than 150 bags of heroin were found in the car.

Police arrested the adult occupants, Ronald Bergamino, 28, of Mount Pocono, Lauren Riches, 25, of Stroudsburg, Edward Matthews, 28, and Casey Matthews, 27, both of Milford.

The young child was turned over to Children and Youth of Pike County. The parents were charged with endangering the welfare of a child. All four suspects are charged with possession with intent to deliver and other drug crimes.
