2,500 citizens are arrested abroad. One third of the arrests are on drug-related charges. Many of those arrested assumed as U.S. citizens that they could not be arrested. John H. West, 24; Tyrail L. Graham, 24; Andre J. Gillam, 25; and Kevin D. Harrington, 24, each was charged with possession and trafficking of crack cocaine. The charges are felonies.
Portsmouth Police officers, along with Scioto County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Units, arrested the suspects in the area of Kendall Avenue.
Officers recovered $7,070 cash, about 7 grams of crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana. They also impounded a 2006 Dodge Charger.
The suspects will be arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Monday. Additional charges may be presented to a grand jury.

American drug mule jailed for four years, fined $10,000 - Stabroek News: "Onrii Oluseun Ogunkile, 24, admitted to the charge which stated that between September 11 and 13 at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, he had in his possession 826 grammes of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
Special Prosecutor of the Customs Anti-Narcotics Unit (CANU) Oswald Massiah in giving the facts of the case said that Ogunkile who is a US citizen by birth had come to Guyana on vacation with family and friends and was an outgoing passenger returning to the US when he was nabbed with the illegal substance.
According to Massiah, the man’s luggage was checked by a CANU officer who noticed him acting in a suspicious manner. Twelve pellets suspected to contain cocaine were later found in the man’s suitcase. The Special Prosecutor said that after being confronted by the officials about the offence committed, the defendant told them that in addition to the 12 pellets in his luggage, he had swallowed 56 pellets."

Two face cocaine charges in N.C. | The Portland Press Herald / Maine Sunday Telegram: "Reymundo Rodriguez, 24, and Noe Rodriguez, 23, are charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine. The charges were filed Thursday in U.S. District Court. If they're convicted, the brothers will face minimum prison sentences of 10 years.
A criminal complaint was filed with the court by Anthony Risk, a special agent with the Department of Homeland Security Investigations office in Portland.
According to the complaint, a confidential informant told investigators that the Rodriguez brothers were going to drive from Maine to North Carolina in early October last year to pick up 4 or 5 kilograms of cocaine. A kilogram is about 2.2 pounds."

Heroin bust in Fountain Hills nets 10 arrests, drugs and $56K | Phoenix News | Arizona News | azfamily.com | Phoenix News: "arrests are a culmination of a three-month-long investigation in which deputies also busted about 56 grams of heroin with a street value of $56,000 as well as drug paraphernalia.
As of Friday, MCSO had arrested 10 suspects who now face charges ranging from possession of narcotic drugs to narcotic drugs for sale and conspiracy to possess narcotic drug for sale. Additional arrests are expected.
Among those in custody are David Ryan Leddy, 24, Marie Gonzales Secillia, 19, John Toland Hutchinson, 22, and Joseph Franklin Ahlgren, 18, from Fountain Hills. Also arrested were Angela Marie Farmer, 26, Baris Sendag, 35, and James McQueen, 29, from Scottsdale and Phoenix residents Francisco Nolasco Cruz, 21, and Luis Alonso Lopez Montes, 21. Nathaniel Freeman, 23, was arrested and then released pending drug analysis."

Yuba-Sutter gang members get life for dragging murder | TheUnion.com: "Two Norteños street gang associates convicted of dragging a Yuba City man to death under a car in 2007 were sentenced Friday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Aaron Richard Ouellette, 24, and Michael Angelo Sanudo, 23, said nothing to family members of Willie Dean Roberts Jr. who crowded a small Sutter County courtroom. But Sanudo's attorney, David Vasquez, said his client wished a court-ordered $10,000 restitution payment could go to Roberts' family, not to the state."

timesofmalta.com - Three Britons plead not guilty to trafficking cocaine: "Three Britons - Mark Andrew Buckley, 25, Jamie Thomas Carter, 30, and Daniel Emile Degisi, 24, have been remanded in custody after they pleaded not guilty to conspiring to traffic, importing and trafficking cocaine.
They were also charged with having the drug in their possession in circumstances which denoted it was not for their personal use.
The three men were arrested after the police found 220 grammes of cocaine in their hotel room in Bugibba.
One tried to leave Malta on a ferry to Sicily after realising that the drug had been found by the police."

Ice Cream Vendor Sent to Prison for Cocaine Delivery - WBAY-TV Green Bay-Fox Cities-Northeast Wisconsin News: "Lavelle Johnson, 24, previously pleaded no contest to a charge of delivering cocaine.
Last July, the Green Bay city council granted Johnson an ice cream truck permit despite a marijuana conviction in 2004, after character witnesses urged the council to give Johnson a chance.
Police arrested Johnson two days later as part of an unrelated drug investigation.
Some aldermen were upset to learn Johnson was under investigation when they approved his permit."

Couple charged with trafficking cocaine | Salisbury, NC - Salisbury Post: "Marcus Lamont McCain, 35, of 310 Miller Ave., was arrested Wednesday in Cleveland and charged with trafficking cocaine.
Teira Shawnta Heaggins, 24, also of 310 Miller Ave., has been charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine and conspiracy to traffic cocaine in Iredell County. Her arrest is pending.Rowan County Sheriff's Office deputies, assisting Iredell detectives, stopped the GMC Denali McCain was driving eastbound on U.S. 70.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies recovered $10,400 in cash.
Shortly afterward, Rowan deputies executed a search warrant at 310 Miller Avenue, recovering a shotgun and other items."

Steven P. Guzman, 24, was seen in the parking lot of a Dunkin’ Donuts on Lakeville Road where he agreed to sell the bags to another person for an unknown amount of money at 9:07 p.m., according to Narcotics/Vice Bureau detectives.
He was found to have 102 bags of heroin on him, each bag marked “Coming Up,” police said.Guzman was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance. He will be arraigned at First Distrcit Court in Hempstead on Sunday.

charged Dewayne Bynum, 24, 4007 Harvey St., Monroe with possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, illegal possession of a firearm and three counts of distributing crack cocaine.An arrest affidavit said officers charged Bynum at his home, where they recovered a Hi Point .40-caliber handgun and drugs. The suspect said he was a convicted felon, but officers had not been able to confirm that at the arrest.No bond was set on the possession charge or the weapons charge, and bond was set at $25,000 for each of three warrants on the distributing charge.

Aikeem J. Williams, 24, of Bridgeton is charged with official misconduct, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Williams allegedly walked into South Woods with approximately 120 grams of marijuana and then attempted to leave the facility, according to Cumberland County Prosecutor Ron Casella. Williams was detained and a court-authorized search warrant was issued. A search revealed 16 individually wrapped baggies containing marijuana concealed in his Department of Corrections winter jacket, Casella said. A search of his vehicle turned up numerous waxine baggies, which are typically used to package heroin, according to the prosecutor's office.
Williams was committed to the Cumberland County Jail in lieu of $250,000 full cash bail. Williams began his career as a corrections officer in January 2006.
