Police are saying that two separate arrests for drugs on Thursday are actually connected.

RNC officers searched a Mount Pearl residence at 3 p.m. Thursday and seized 40 pounds of cannabis marijuana and $4,200 in cash. A 42-year-old was arrested and charged for trafficking.

Continuing with the investigation, four hours later a 25-year-old was arrested in St. John's. His vehicle and $49,000 were seized. He was charged after he tried to buy marijuana from an undercover officer.
