Jamaican male drug mule found dead in Bermuda - Breaking & Current Jamaica News - JamaicaObserver.com: "Police have warned of the risks of drug smuggling after pellets containing drugs were found in the body of a 35-year-old Jamaican national.
Police believe the drug pellets inside the body of Hugh Melwood may have contributed to his death.
Melwood’s body was found at a house on the central parish of Pembroke a week ago, after he returned from a recent visit abroad.
“Several pellets which contained what are believed to be quantities of controlled drug were recovered from within the body. It is suspected that they may have contributed to his death. The deceased recently returned to Bermuda from an overseas trip,” the police spokesman said.
“The Bermuda Police Service wishes to take this opportunity to remind the public that the penalties for those convicted of drug offences are severe. Additionally, the health risks associated with drug smuggling cannot be understated,” the police spokesman added."
