The EU report is expected to be completed in April.The safety concerns arise from the use of backscatter X-ray systems, one of two types of scanners used for screening passengers. These $100,000 machines, similar in size to a stand-up tanning booth, use “backscatter” technology, which bounces low-radiation X-rays off a traveler to produce high resolution images that makes clothing transparent."
