High school coach charged with trafficking cocaine | NewsChannel 36 | Charlotte News, Weather, Traffic, and Sports | WCNC.com | News for Charlotte, NC: "Alphonso Keaton and Kevin Rankin were arrested Thursday and charged with trafficking cocaine. The arrests were the result of a joint investigation by the Rowan and Davie County sheriff's offices.
The men were arrested after allegedly buying 96 grams of cocaine from someone in the parking lot of an Advance Auto in Mocksville.
Keaton was the assistant coach of the girls' basketball team at West Rowan High School this season. School officials said Keaton's contract has expired and he is no longer an employee.
Both men are being held in the Davie County Jail under $100,000 bond each. Their first court date is May 13."
