“I burgled her house, but I didn’t kill her.”
He says he burgled the widow’s Stockton home - not the night of her death, but the previous night - and left unnoticed.
He admits he stole her belongings, used her cash card to withdraw hundreds of pounds and got his partner to sell her jewellery to pawnbrokers."
